I used to use McCleans toothpaste but now have switched to Colgate for a number of year now, basically because you can't get McCleans in my home town shops. I certainly am fussy when it comes to toothpastes as I am very proud of my teeth. I always feel fresh and squeaky clean after a Colgate brush and now I have bought the Colgate herbal toothpaste on a trial basis as a special offer was on at the time. Did it live up to the Colgate standards?
Well it certainly tasted different, a fresher more distinctive almost sweet taste. To me this put me off a but as I associated the sweet taste with sugae, it felt like I was brushing my teeth with a sugar based paste. Looking at the ingredient this was not the case so my mind was put at rest on that account.
After every evening where I have raw garlic with my meals I certainly hoped that this would counter the morning garlic breath - It did I don’t have to worry about my breath as it worked quite well, I suppose the herb content counteracts with the garlic smell. I know that eating parsley is great for getting rid of garlic breath where some parsley based compound is in the mixture I don't know, but it works.
So far all good points however, this Colgate herbal toothpaste I found has negative side effect. The compound used leaves my lips dry. Not too much of a problem as I use lip moisturiser to counteract the effect. Other than this I can't see any other negative points.
Would I buy Colgate herbal toothpaste again? Well no, the only reason was because it was on special offer and cheaper than the conventional Colgate toothpaste products that do a good job.
A thumbs up to the product but a thumbs down to the normal price!
